Legal Headhunters Knowledge Base
Can HeadHunters call the company you work for if they find out that your leaving if they recruit for company? I just heard that if Company "A" hired a bunch of Head Hunter agencies to recruit people for them....that if you happen to apply at one of those head hunters and you are an employee of company "A", that, that Head hunter can leagally call your employer to give them a heads up?! I just heard that this happened with a company out there. Two fo their employees in fact. One guy ended up leaving and the other women stayed with a warning. Is this legal...apparently this company had this written into their contract with the headhunter.
Legal Headhunter? What is a legal recruitment headhunter? Is anyone here one and can tell me what duties you have and if you enjoy it etc.
Is it legal to contact an employer around a headhunter or recruiter? I've had an interview with a company & after it they narrowed down the choices of who they want to bring back for 2nd round interviews to 2 people out of 20. My headhunter/recruiter (HH) told me that I placed 3rd out of the 20. This is really unsettling to me because this job is one that I am outrageously passionate for and would absolutely love to have. I'd even consider a pay cut for it The HH told me that the hiring manager chose 1 of the candidates above me because he had certifications I didnt have and the other because he liked the school the guy went to. The HH also told me that the manager had nothing but good things to say about me and it was just unfortunate because they only wanted to pick 2 out of the 20. I am a little down about this and I am thinking that the HH is not telling me the whole truth. Should I & is it legal to send an email directly to the employer and let them know how enthusiastic I am about this job and how I am the number 1 candidate for this position?
Headhunters in Connecticut? Does anyone know how I can find a Headhunter in CT? I am an Executive Assistant in a Law Firm in NYC who just moved back to CT and not sure how long I want to commute. Alot of the jobs I have seen in CT do not pay half as much as I make now, and I can't afford to take such a large paycut. I'm looking for a Headhunter because they got one of my girlfriends a great job in one of the top brokerage firms in NYC. Even though I have heavy Legal experience I would be open to other fields/industries. Thanks!
I moved to Indianapolis, IN and having trouble finding a job? I just moved back In Indy to be closer to family but I am having trouble finding a job. I have a business degree and JD Law degree. I have experience as a Legal Consultant and managed MGM Grand in Las Vegas but I can't seem to get even a second looking here in the midwest. What should I do? Find a recruiter or headhunter? How? I am just at a loss right now.
Prospective employer breached confidentiality. Is this legal? I'm a regional mgr for my company. A headhunter recently routed a blind copy (my name and companies omitted) of my resume to a sr. manager at a nearby company. The manager indicated he would like to interview me, and my personal information was then disclosed to him, so the interview could be scheduled. I have since heard back from the recruiter that the manager is no longer interested in talking to me because he had talked to a subordinate (3 levels below him) who had previously worked for me. This individual was 2 levels below me and had been fired for poor performance. She is a chronic gossip and has now also contacted other employees in my region to tell them I am looking for a job elsewhere. What's my recourse? Since my resume was submitted blind, the expectation of confidentiality should have been assumed. I have never done this to any candidates submitted to me and never would. Also, what kind of leader asks subordinates several levels down for references on managers? You couldn't pay me enough to work for this unprofessional jerk now, but I want to expose this indiscretion to his company. Thanks. I'm not looking to sue. However, I think his company needs to know about this, because this could land them in serious trouble. I would want to know if managers reporting in to me were behaving like this. To give a little more background, the manager and the subordinate in question just left another company together. I've since learned he (the manager) was in a good deal of hot water for the mess he had created there. Had I known this individual was even working for the prospective employer (he just started there), I would not have given the headhunter the go-ahead to submit my resume. I don't need the headache; nor am I desperate for a new job.
On call 24/7. Whats the law? My husband is a project manager for a company. My husband is on call every second of every day. We can never really do anything because if he gets a call to go he must leave right then. We used to love going to this mall around 1 hour away and now we can't do that. We dicided to try to find another job for him and they have so many connections with other companies no one will hire him because they said they can't hire him while he is working there. Even job head hunters cant help us because they are clients for the headhunters. So he is stuck working at this place. I was wondering if it is legal to have someone on call 24/7 and not pay them anything. He is on a hourly wage and we live in Florida. We are thinking about having him quit so he can try to get another job but we are scared he wont find another job quickly.
As a placement headhunter? Does anyone have any tips/ideas on collecting upper level executive resumes: accounting (controllers, cfo'c...), legal (tax attorneys, vice general counsels...), medical (doctors, specialist), engineers, scientist? I am trying to load my database, I have access to tons of job orders thoroughout the United States (some Internationally), yet not enough potential candidates. Any tips? (Besides monster)
Which Canadian or US companies directly entertain foreign job applicants? I am from the Philippines seeking to obtain a managerial position in any Canadian company. I want to know which companies these are so I can browse their sites for available careers. Monster.ca, workopolis and other reruitment and headhunter sites have proven useless since they tell you outright that only those eligible to work in Canada can be entertained by them for their clients. I am looking at companies open to remote (online/phonecall) interviews. I have a degree in Commerce Major In Legal Management as well as a Juris Doctor Degree. I used to manage the Legal Department of a Real Estate Company in the Philippines.
I'm a recruiter. Does cold calling potential candidates violate the do not call act? I've been a recruiter for the past 9 years for 3 different groups and have gotten mixed answers. Two legal dept said "yes" while the other one said "no." Am I technically selling a job? Does it matter if I am part of an internal HR department hiring strictly for one entity or an external "headhunter" agency who presents candidates to numerous companies? (If possible please support your answer with a link.) This is searching for candidates via internet searches who meet the job criteria. No resume has been received. These candidates are not found on job boards.
