Legal Nurse Consultant Jobs Knowledge Base
Is there such a career as Legal Nurse Consultant in Singapore? If so, could you provide more details about it such as the certifications/qualifications required to become one, job scope, career path & opportunities, salary etc. Your views & opinions are very much appreciated. Thank you. Cheers Hi V.T.V.RAM, Maybe you can tell me which institutions in Singapore impart coaching and training for RNs to become a Legal Nurse Consultant? Thanks.
Is Legal Nurse Consulting a good direction for me to go? Does anyone have experience working as a legal nurse consultant? I am looking at doing the Vicki Milazzo training program which for me would require taking out a loan. I am a nurse with 3 1/2 years of experience in various areas - Long term care, Corrections, School Nursing. I'm looking for a job right now and am not having a whole lot of luck. I am also looking to the future when I would hopefully be able to be a mostly stay-at-home mom someday.
Certified Legal Nurse Consultant? I am an RN and looking to start up a part time job. Is there a demand for CLNC's? Or is it another smoke job? The class is not to expensive if there is work out there.

i'm so annoyed. i don't know what to do with my life!? I'm in highschool, and I still don't know what I want to do when I get older. I know, I still have lots of time, but I would like to have an idea of what it is I want to do. I want to work in an office, like at a magazine or something, and also in the movie Fever Pitch, Drew Barrymore...what she does, I think she's a business consultant, but a business consultant for what? I absolutely know I want to work in my own office. I've gone through all of these ideas that don't relate to that... ~surgeon ~nurse ~elem. teacher ~psychiatrist ~veterinarian ~Lawyer ( like the ones on the shows in the court rooms where they ask all the questions like Boston Legal, CSI, NCYS...) thaat's it...I know I want to work in a building in NYC. Just please help me...in a magazine office, what jobs are there? editor, editor-in-chief, those are the only ones I know. Also, what other "office jobs" are there...ones where I could have my own little office...like in the movie Fever Pitch...I know that i'm so stupid coming up with this idea relating it to a movie, but that's the only example i could think of. Any advice as to wehre I could take a FREE online career test, books I could read, anything??? and i know this is a lot...but what colleges are best to go to for working in magazines, and what should i major in?
Your opinion on experts medical report on my sons death? My son died 2005 after 3 years with legal hands this is the conclusion im am to be settled with...... I started new job so hubby was watching him,,,, I asked two top doctors and several nurses repeal to authorize platelets' I left a lap still not done.. he had a drip with actinide in it empty when I left he been on that during the whole stay... hubby called to say at theater but camera broken had to wait her to be fixed. as going into theater doctor asked nurse had he had platelets she replied 'I don't know' he said 'its your job to know... my son requested the mask to go to sleep but not working so injected.. no platelets ordered or bloods .. I have every piece of info if required...... Hospital for Children NHS Trust National & UK Centre and Service for Pulmonary Hypertension in Children McMillan Williams Dear Sirs, I am PD Dr Ingram Schulze-Neick. I am a Consultant Pediatrician and Pediatric Cardiologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital, and I am clinically and academically leading the NCG-sponsored National Service for Children with Pulmonary Hypertension, for which we are the reference centre. I have been asked to review the case of DN-J as an independent reviewer with the question as to whether a case can be made of serious misconduct and negligence from the side of the health carers, ie. Kings College Hospital NHS Trust. I have been sent 2 big folders (the “bundle”) which contain the records of the hospitals: Guys’ and St Thomas’, Croydon, Mayday, Milton Keynes General, King’s College, the GP’s records and Correspondence, and the Coroner’s Report. I notice that the documentation is confusing and in wild order, for instance, King’s and Milton’s documentation is mixed, and also not in any chronological order, ie. 2004 follows 2005 follows 2004 again, and within these, there are reports from Guy’s and St Thomas’ report. I further note that the boy’s name is indeed , and the mother’s name is as opposed to to what in your letter in your letter(s). In Partnership with the Institute of Child Health, UCL Patron: Her Majesty The Queen Chairman: Sir Cyril Chantler MA MD FRCP FRCPCH FMedSci I shortly summarize the case as follows. The patient died 16th of March 2005 during unsuccessful resuscitation during general anesthesia required for colonoscopy because of GI bleeding. The cardiovascular collapse is attributed to the severe pulmonary vascular changes which were found on autopsy. The existence of such severe pulmonary hypertension including the pulmonary vascular changes was unknown at the time of the above procedures. The GI bleeding was seen as a consequence of his advanced liver disease. His liver disease was diagnosed following his admission in Milton Keynes for a first episode of haematemesis and abdominal pain August, 2008. Subsequently, the diagnosis of portal hypertension was made (by OGD, 21st August, King’s College Hospital). An Echocardiogram was requested at that time and performed 10th of September 2008 as an outpatient of Dr Qureshi and Dr Aphrodite Anagnostopoulos-Tzifa. The specific findings were a structurally normal heart with slightly dilated pulmonary arteries and a tricuspid regurgitant jet indicating a peak right ventricular pressure around 36 to 60 mmHg which is mild-to-moderate pulmonary hypertension. Dr Que The case with its problems and with the questions of the mother is well I am trying to answer the remaining aspect which is whether the diagnosis of severe pulmonary hypertension could not have been made earlier so he would not have died, and whether anything within the accepted clinical routine has been significantly and wrongly omitted. Are there flaws in care from the side of the Liver Service of King’s? Portopulmonary hypertension in children is very rare. The current literature as of 9/2008 does not indicate how often it occurs in children with portal hypertension, nor does it delineate the dynamics of this side aspect, ie. how quick or aggressively pulmonary hypertension develops in what child with portal hypertension. In other words, while a liver service in children on the basis of the current knowledge can be expected to be aware that portal hypertension is associated with pulmonary hypertension, it is neither in the routine knowledge nor even known in the literature how
my son needs a lawyer but we can not afford one! He is facing jail time for a suspension license.? He is a single father trying to rise his daughter. He had prior suspensed license in Wisconsin which he cleared in 1999. He was driving to a job that he had to have to put food on his table. Now Florida is hitting him again. Please we need help. He is helping me with my disabled husband/his father and because we live on the beach (our address) Legal Aid will not help him. My husband who is only 53 had a severe reaction to Zocor so he is now 100% disaabled and requires extensive assistance. So now can not help him. What are our options? I am an RN of 30+ years who has worked 15+ years in long term care as a consultant, case mamager and Director of Nursing. I have assisted many corporations in correcting and assisting in legal battles for mal-practice cases. ( I know how and where they mask information) I will be willing to barter my services if you could help my son.

What COLOR did you wear the MOST of today? If you wore any of these, then this is what it says about you: Black Black is the color of authority and power. It is popular in fashion because it makes people appear thinner. It is also stylish and timeless. Black also implies submission. Priests wear black to signify submission to God. Some fashion experts say a woman wearing black implies submission to men. Black outfits can also be overpowering, or make the wearer seem aloof or evil. White Brides wear white to symbolize innocence and purity. White reflects light and is considered a summer color. White is popular in decorating and in fashion because it is light, neutral, and goes with everything. However, white shows dirt and is therefore more difficult to keep clean than other colors. Doctors and nurses wear white to imply sterility. Red The most emotionally intense color, red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also the color of love. Red clothing gets noticed and makes the wearer appear heavier. Since it is an extreme color, red clothing might not help people in negotiations or confrontations. Red cars are popular targets for thieves. In decorating, red is usually used as an accent. Decorators say that red furniture should be perfect since it will attract attention. The most romantic color, pink, is more tranquilizing. Sports teams sometimes paint the locker rooms used by opposing teams bright pink so their opponents will lose energy. Blue The color of the sky and the ocean, blue is one of the most popular colors. It causes the opposite reaction as red. Peaceful, tranquil blue causes the body to produce calming chemicals, so it is often used in bedrooms. Blue can also be cold and depressing. Fashion consultants recommend wearing blue to job interviews because it symbolizes loyalty. People are more productive in blue rooms. Studies show weightlifters are able to handle heavier weights in blue gyms. Green Currently the most popular decorating color, green symbolizes nature. It is the easiest color on the eye and can improve vision. It is a calming, refreshing color. People waiting to appear on TV sit in "green rooms" to relax. Hospitals often use green because it relaxes patients. Brides in the Middle Ages wore green to symbolize fertility. Dark green is masculine, conservative, and implies wealth. However, seamstresses often refuse to use green thread on the eve of a fashion show for fear it will bring bad luck. Yellow Cheerful sunny yellow is an attention getter. While it is considered an optimistic color, people lose their tempers more often in yellow rooms, and babies will cry more. It is the most difficult color for the eye to take in, so it can be overpowering if overused. Yellow enhances concentration, hence its use for legal pads. It also speeds metabolism. Purple The color of royalty, purple connotes luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also feminine and romantic. However, because it is rare in nature, purple can appear artificial. Brown Solid, reliable brown is the color of earth and is abundant in nature. Light brown implies genuineness while dark brown is similar to wood or leather. Brown can also be sad and wistful. Men are more apt to say brown is one of their favorite colors

Fred Turley of Des Plaines, Ill., learned he didn’t have a daughter. And Wendy Lieb of Lewis Center, Ohio, made certain she wasn’t going to be a grandmother quite yet. In all three situations, crucial genetic information altered the lives of the people involved. And in each case, it came not from a doctor or other medical source, but from a $29.99 kit on a drugstore shelf. Reid, Turley and Lieb are among more than 800 customers who responded to the first wave of marketing for do-it-yourself DNA paternity tests sold as Identigene by Sorenson Genomics of Salt Lake City. Story continues below ↓ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- advertisement -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sales in three western states — Washington, Oregon and California — were so brisk last fall that Rite Aid Corp. expanded the product this week to some 4,300 stores in 30 states across the country. “The running joke is that we’re the Maury Povich family,” said Reid, 37, who confirmed years of speculation about a former girlfriend’s son with a kit purchased at a Bellingham, Wash., store. “But why not do it privately? We did this as discreetly, as efficiently and as cost-effectively as possible.” For users like Reid, the tests provide easier answers to one of life’s crucial questions — Who’s your daddy? — said Douglas Fogg, chief operating officer of Identigene. “Everyone is purchasing the tests because they’re curious,” said Fogg, who expects to sell at least 52,000 tests this year. “They’re looking to establish questions about their own child or their own paternity.” But for genetics experts, drugstore marketing of DNA testing raises questions of accuracy and ethics. “From our perspective, direct-to-consumer genetic tests raise all the same issues for lax government oversight, potentially misleading or false advertising and the potential for making profound medical decisions on the basis of poorly interpreted or understood results,” said Rick Borchelt, a spokesman for the Genetics and Public Policy Center at Johns Hopkins University. At the very least, the kits have the potential to complicate the lives of the people who use them, legal experts cautioned. “We all need to take a step back and realize that this is different than many tests that you take,” said R. Alta Charo, a professor of law and bioethics at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. “This is a life-changing moment.” DNA tests join other diagnostic tools The paternity kits have taken their place on store shelves next to other diagnostic tests that don’t rely on DNA, including those for pregnancy, HIV and blood sugar, said Michael S. Watson, executive director of the American College of Medical Genetics. Unlike genetic tests for health conditions, tests that use DNA to determine paternity are fairly simple to provide and fairly easy to interpret, said Watson. They're subject to limited oversight, however, with no review required by the Food and Drug Administration and no certification required under the federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments, or CLIA. The Identigene kit includes swabs for collecting cell samples from the inside of the cheeks of the child and the alleged father. Collection of the mother’s cells is optional, but strongly recommended to strengthen the results. The swabs are packaged and mailed to the Sorenson laboratory in Salt Lake City where they’re analyzed. Cast your vote Are at-home DNA paternity tests a good idea? The Sorenson lab is accredited by the AABB, the agency formerly known as the American Association of Blood Banks. Results are reported online, by phone or by mail in three to five business days. They come back as a probability figure that verifies paternity with 98 percent to 99 percent accuracy, Watson said. Total cost is about $150, including the price of the kit and a $119 laboratory processing fee. For another $200, users can purchase validated tests that meet legal requirements for determining paternity, Fogg said. Court use questionable But Susan Crockin, a lawyer who specializes in reproductive technology, said consumers shouldn’t count on the tests standing up in court. Video Who's your daddy? DIY paternity test debuts March 27: A new type of at-home medical test can reveal a child’s paternity. But is it a good idea? NBC's Michelle Kosinski reports. Today show “The jury’s still very much out on these tests in terms of reliability and establishing a chain of custody,” said Crockin, a consultant for the Johns Hopkins public policy center. Most of the users who have been buying the kits — which have gone on sale for as low as $17.99 — don’t plan to use the results to resolve legal issues, Fogg acknowledged. Instead, most are looking to answer social questions. And that's where the complexity comes in. Because the cell samples are taken in private, there’s the potential for fraud and deception, noted Charo, the ethics expert. “I can imagine rather peculiar circumstances in which somebody has a swab taken without their knowledge,” she said. “It raises questions about informed consent.” Even when people do consent, the results can be unsettling. Watson estimates that between 5 percent and 10 percent of genetic tests he's conducted show a child is not related to the presumed father. “It could break up families,” Watson said. “Some will be broken because that was the goal. Others will be broken up and that wasn't the goal.” But people who’ve used the at-home tests swear by the ease, the accuracy — and the results. After 20 years, a mystery solved For Reid, the paternity test opened the door to a new extended family. He’d always wondered whether the baby born to a former girlfriend was his, even though she insisted the child was fathered by another man. When the girlfriend contacted Reid on Facebook last summer, the pictures she sent of her oldest son raised the question anew. “My wife, said ‘Oh my, that’s you,’” said Reid, a nurse. Internet research pointed Reid to the Identigene test, which was cheaper and more convenient than other options. With cooperation from his former girlfriend and her son, they all took the tests, with results that altered everyone’s lives. “Our newest son has a family he never knew he had including grandparents, aunts, and three younger brothers who are all very excited to meet him,” Reid said. For Fred Turley, 55, the DNA test confirmed what his companion had told him: the 4-year-old girl he helped care for was not his. The news was disappointing, but clear, he said. “The bottom line is, I don’t have to live with the uncertainty about her being my daughter and wind up in a fight just to find out,” Turley said. “This won’t change how I feel about the girl. It will just remove what had become a major concern.” For Wendy Lieb, 41, the DNA test restored her 20-year-old son’s future. He’d already quit college, taken a job and assumed the responsibilities of pending parenthood after a girl he had sex with at a party claimed she was pregnant with his child. Lieb is relieved for her own child, of course, but also for everyone involved. As difficult as the situation has been, she said, it will be easier for them to adjust now, rather than years later. The test may raise ethical questions, she said, but it also provides the peace of mind that comes with answers. “I think it’s a lot more ethical for you to find out the truth,” she said. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23814032?GT1=43001
