Why is it legal for army recruiters to show up at high schools? does anyone else think that this is incredibly wrong? John D. i agree with you, altho you said it in an incredibly anti-semetic way, a better approach would have been to say Israelis Shovel Ready your an idiot, there hasnt been a war that threatened any of our freedoms since the war of 1812 (the civil war is arguable)
Why are recruiters permitted to blackmail employment candidates? Recruiters are using SAPs e-Recruiting 6.0 for example, to blacklist employment candidates, both internally and externally. And, SAP is encouraging their user community to seek ways to "alienate" candidates as well as to "hide" their activities so that people looking for employment won't get wise. I'm not a legal scholar, but this smacks of "Nazi-ism" to the Nth degree. So, is it legal for recruiters to use "back-end" systems to libel people who they've never met or even done business with?
Is it legal for a recruiter to share your information with the two companies you are interviewing at? Recently, I was offered a job at Company A and Company B. I found the jobs available through a recruiter that represented both companies. I decided to take the job at Company B, but found out later that the recruiter had told Company B about my interview, salary offer, etc. at Company A. Is this legal? Can a recruiter who represents the two companies that you are interviewing at tell each company about who/what you’re interviewing for and salary being offered? Seems kind of unethical at the very least.
where is the legal line with recruiters? A recruiter got my info on-line. He asked me if he could send my resume to 50 companies in my state that he had relationships with. (hiring or not) I told him NO! That is not how I wanted to go about things. He then wrote back that he had hit the send key rather than the save key and sent the info out already. I made him send me what he e-mailed. He doctored my resume and put his company logo and all his contact info. He also changed my resume format and deleted some content. He also included my current employer and that fact that I'm under paid and put an amount. I feel violated and I'm not sure what to do. He also has threatened my job and professionalism as a couple of the companies he e-mailed are current customers o my current employer HELP! he is saying it was "an accident" an accident got his name attached to my resume in 52 companies
When job hunting, do recruiters somehow discriminate based on past employer's mistakes, bankrupcy/ legal prob? My husband just lost his job because the Company is being sued by the IRS. It was all over the news and everything, looking real bad. Will recruiters (subconsciously or not) not hire him even though he learned a lot.... (he's in IT) I am asking this question because the Company I was with for 6 years went Bankrupt a few years ago. I was even a recent college grad at the time and found it incredibly difficult to find anything (even jobs I thought were under me). Certainly there could have been other reasons, but I am wondering if this added to it and how my husband should proceed when looking. Anyone?
Is the information I share with potential employers and recruiters confidential? I am conducting a job search process and have been talking to many recruiters. I am concerned that the information I am sharing during my job search process is not confidential and becomes part of the recruiters database along with my resume and contact information. I am wondering if this is legal and if I can require that my conversations be kept confidential.
What legal recourse do parents have(or should have) against predators of thier children? If a parent suspects that their children have been coerced into relationships - sexual or not - by predatory people, what legal recourse do the parents have against the predators? If you don't know legal specifics, what laws should we have to protect our children (without allowing excessive witch hunting?). Predatory relationships - including relationships where older children or adults exploit children (like using them to sell drugs, or to make money, or to gain fame) this broad definition would include unscrupulous agents for child actors, pimps, criminals enlisting children for criminal intent, overzealous military recruiters and sexual predators. LEGAL RECOURSE. The objective is to properly punish the offenders within the system, not make the parents into offenders as well. This is serious, would like to know what options I have to offer to save my kids and the children of my friends and family.
Is joining the navy possible when you have certain legal problems to fix? i'm going to talk to a recruiter next week, the thing is i'm in a bit of a legal headache because of a physically abusive ex boyfriend, i still have a court date. obviously i'm not the one being accused. should i mention this to my recruiter? do i have to wait for all of this to be over to sign or can i sign anyway? would this look bad on my part to enlist? i know people answered last time but repost since my other question got deleted. sorry
Legal Resume for Law Student - Always 1 Page Maximum? I'm getting some conflicting advice from my school's counseling office so wanted to get a take from Attorneys or Legal Recruiters. Currently, my resume is at 2 pages but the counselors are saying I should cut it down to 1 page max. because I'm still a student (1L). They tell me the judges and hiring partners will just toss my resume aside if it's more than 1 page, unless I have prior, direct legal experience. My professors, whom I've also shown my resume to, say my resume at 2 pages looks fine because I had a substantial previous career (10+ years Human Resources management). I also still hold several valid HR certs but the counselors have told me to leave my certs & detailed experience off my resume, and to just condense my HR experience into a few bullet points....all just so I can get it onto 1 page instead of 2. However, I'm applyling to extern in the Labor Courts and at Employment Law firms so I would think that my background could be relevant? Any thoughts? Is 2 pages too long for a law student's resume? Does it make a difference if I'm applying to a different court or firm (say taxation) where my background would not directly relate?
Was it legal for me to puddle splash a group of liberal protesters? These liberals were out protesting on Main Street, in front of the Army recruiters office. There was a water main break earlier in the week in front of the recruiter (I went to inslist, but they were closed). But these liberals were all yelling and were dirty and so I drove by and SLAM, I soaked them with dirty street water! Served them righ, yes or no? But I got a ticket and want to fight it. Was I wrong or right?
Is public recruiting legal? Is public recruiting by legit military recruiters legal? I always thought it was, but the other day, two or three military recruiters from the Marine Corps were outside of a convenience store, stopping passerby's asking if they were interested in joining the service. They were standing there with their brochures and everything. Eventually two police cars pulled up and told the recruiters that they had to leave, even though they weren't doing anything wrong. I always thought this was legal. Was it because they were in front of a business or something? Why were they told to leave?
Shouldn't the feds hold up money to any Uni or college that refuses to allow recruiters or ROTC? For five years, Yale Law School has fought to restrict military recruiters from its job fairs because of the Pentagon’s policy that bars openly gay or bisexual people from the military. But with the federal government threatening to withhold $350 million in grants if the university does not assist the recruiters, that fight will all but end on Monday. After an appeals court ruled in favor of the Defense Department on Sept. 17, the law school said it would allow recruiters from the Air Force and Navy to participate in a university-sponsored job interview program for law students on Monday afternoon. For now, the legal battle to stop the recruiters is over, said Robert A. Burt, a Yale law professor and the lead plaintiff in the case. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/01/nyregion/01yale.html?_r=1&pagewanted=print&oref=slogin
Do you have to take care of legal matters before you join the military? Like divorce, law suits, road tickets, court fees, child custody, marriage, tax suit, name change, etc. I heard that in the Navy, you have to take care all legal matters, since they're at sea 6 months out the year. But I'm not sure about the other branches like the Army. I haven't been able to reach a recruiter yet.
Public Recruiting legal? I asked this question earlier, but for some reason the site won't let me pull it up. Here it is: Is public recruiting by legit military recruiters legal? I always thought it was, but the other day, two or three military recruiters from the Marine Corps were outside of a convenience store, stopping passerby's asking if they were interested in joining the service. They were standing there with their brochures and everything. Eventually two police cars pulled up and told the recruiters that they had to leave, even though they weren't doing anything wrong. Who can I talk to in the Air Force for legal advice? I am a new recruit soon to be going to basic and I have a complex legal situation that I need to talk to someone in the air force about besides my recruiter because I dont know if trust the advice he gave me about it. Who can I call in the air force that will know what there talking about and be able to help me out, Im thinking about calling the Adjutant generals office for advice any suggestions if thats who to talk to or what office I should be calling thanks
Separate payment for paying insurance premium. Is it legal? A friend of mine is a contractor and he is currently negotiating his rate with the recruiter. One of decision he made was to get health insurance somewhere else (not thru recruiter's company). During the negotiation, the recruiter wants to pay for his expense for health insurance by giving personal check on monthly basis. His paycheck will reflect only total hours he works on the project times hourly rate. He is doing W2. My questions: 1. Is this a legal practice? 2. I assume he would report the extra income when filing the tax. Is health insurance premium expense deductible? Thanks.
Best Legal Law Firm Recruiter in Chicago? I am looking at re-entering the job market after several years of raising children. Can anyone recommend a Chicago-area law firm placement service for a support staff position???
struggling to get started in my solo practice - practicing attorneys only, please? I'm having trouble really getting my solo practice going. I'm 8 months in and still struggling to pay the bills. I need to make more money but am stressed by every new client I do pull in. I'm considering doing contract work or switching to law related work, like lexis rep or legal recruiter... what have you guys done to either make the practice work or succeed in related fields?
What are the consequences for ditching the army? I signed a 3yr contract with the army active duty, but I never boarded the plane to leave to basic training. Am I in any legal problems? My recruiter was too mad at me to give me information. Do I still have to complete those 3yrs?
Legal work - why work in the public sector? If you were a recruiter, how would you sell work in the public sector to a student who has the choice between government and private jobs, specifically, work at the Attorney General's office? If you were a student, what would attract you to public sector work, knowing it pays approximately 2/3 of that of a private sector job? More details: - At this school, 55% of second years get offered jobs, and 95% of those jobs are with the private sector. - There is a benefits plan at all of the major private firms which rivals or exceeds the AG's office. The AG does not pay student loans, but pays for part of the bar examinations/licensing.
How much does a first year Attorney Recruiter make? Hi all! This is my first question so be gentle;-) I am considering taking an attorney recruiter position with a legal staffing company and I was wondering if anyone had any idea what an "average" first year recruiter can expect to make in a large urban area. The compensation involves a draw against future commission, 45% of placement fee. Knowing what I know about attorney compensation where I live it seems that I wouldn't have to do all that many placements to exceed six figures so there must be a catch here.
Orosi farm-They're asking my bro's resume together with S2000 for the working visa, do you think it's legal. They need workers in the farm in Orosi, California and they prefer filipino workers. They will be paying the workers S2500/ mo. We're from the Philippines and they are recruiting my brother to work there, they are asking for S2000 to process my bros. working visa and if the visa is released then we'll have to pay the remaning S5000. Do you think the process is legal? Should we give in to the recruiter's demand? We want, as much as possible to avoid illegal recruiters? Need Help!
Can my navy recruiter cause me to loose rank? I have been complaining about my recruiter for the past week or so. And I wouldn't put stalking past anyone. So is there any legal way my recruiter can make me loose rank I got advanced to E-3 because I have lots of college credits
What is an old employeer allowed to tell a potential new employeer? When I used to work for one company they said I could only tell people called for a reference that the person was an employee and when they worked there. I could only also say the person was laid-off or they quit. Now I am looking for a job after being fired from a different job for a "perfect storm" situation and recruiters always ask what my last employer might say. Is there legal limits on what a company can say or how much detail they can give.
what are my chances getting into the army warrant officer program? I was going through the process of joining the army for the warrant officer program when I ran into some legal trouble. The recruiter now says I cannot join the program unless I want to enlist then apply for the program once Im in. My question would be for anyone who is in the army or had experience in the warrant officer program. I would like to know what you think the chances are that I would make it into the program once they already got me in? I am also a pilot in the civilian world if that makes any difference
Joining the Airforce with legal trouble? When I was 13 years of age me and this girl were fooling around(kissing) and got caught and the police was called. I got a 3rd degree sexual assault charge.... Now this was expunged right away. My friend in the airforce said it shouldnt be a problem to join because i was so young and my asvab score is a 85. My other friend said to not tell the recruiter because they can't find out unless i join intelligence (intense backround checks) What do i do?
Is it legal to contact an employer around a headhunter or recruiter? I've had an interview with a company & after it they narrowed down the choices of who they want to bring back for 2nd round interviews to 2 people out of 20. My headhunter/recruiter (HH) told me that I placed 3rd out of the 20. This is really unsettling to me because this job is one that I am outrageously passionate for and would absolutely love to have. I'd even consider a pay cut for it The HH told me that the hiring manager chose 1 of the candidates above me because he had certifications I didnt have and the other because he liked the school the guy went to. The HH also told me that the manager had nothing but good things to say about me and it was just unfortunate because they only wanted to pick 2 out of the 20. I am a little down about this and I am thinking that the HH is not telling me the whole truth. Should I & is it legal to send an email directly to the employer and let them know how enthusiastic I am about this job and how I am the number 1 candidate for this position?
******Recruiters or CO's ONLY or MEPS Employees****************? I went to MEPS to swear in, and sign my contract for the NAVY. I am now in the DEP program, till June 26, when I leave for basic. A week after swearing in, my recruiters were notified by MEPS concerning a petty larceny 6th degrees charge(theft under $200) from 1998 that i did not mention when i went to MEPS. I was told this charge would be gone from my records, that is why i never mentioned it. My recruiter had me fill out a hand written statement explaining the incident that happened that day, which was i stole a couple cd's from a cd store. He sd he will send it in to the legal dept and his CO, to get a waiver granted or denied, so that I can still leave for basic in June. What are the probabilities that this will be granted or denied, and if it was denied, what is the possibility that I could join the Army, after my waiver was denied?
Recruiters? Lets say a recruiter enlists someone with a medical or legal condition but meps doesnt know, if the military finds out lets say 2 years later would the recruiter get shit for it? or is his role over once the recruit leaves for basic
Question on Military Recruiters at Colleges? Is it customary (even legal) for colleges to provide let's say, Army recruiters, with a list of their students so they can be contacted (as this one sgt who called me last night said) about their "wonderful" job and scholarship opportunities? Yes, it's a city college, public. I don't want to call the school and say not so kind words before I know for sure. I do know from my understanding that they "supposedly" don't share our info with any agencies. They don't even let the recruiters (military and police dept) set up shop on campus, they have to do so outside on the street sidewalk. So that's why i'm kind've confused here. It's not even a matter of saying "no, i'm not interested" and know I won't hear from them again LOL. It's a matter that unfortunately, recruiters don't seem to have "no" in their vocabulary and have tendencies to harass, try to break you down or so that's how they do in my neck of the woods. I'm just trying to play nice and not go into b*tch mode, yet. A few weeks ago it was a couple of letters from the Navy. Last night it was a call from a Army recruiter... What next, they're going to come knock on my door? Ya know.
recruiter told me i wasn't telling a lie by not telling about canadian legal issues.? I studied in canada for 3 years, i currently have an open court case, it WILL be thrown out as no one is pressing charges accept the prosecutor and the girl who initial pressed the charges admitted she lied to my father and agreed to write a letter requesting that charges not be pressed as she did not want them to and does not support the prosecutor doing so. Anyway, my recruiter told me don't go to canada, and just go to boot camp, the forms i signed i read over and over and they did say an legal issues in america, it did not say canada, i have had a stellar record from birth, i'm a law abiding citizen. I've never had an issue with legal problems every until this girl, and i brought it on (got caught cheating and planning to move away without telling her, so i admit that was wrong, she tried oto screw me by telling teh cops somethign to screw me) anyway, my recruiter, as well as her chief, as well as the person at meps told me not to worry about Canadian legal issues. Is this right the major problem is i'm away at boot camp when i'm supposed to show for court, everyoen in teh military sid to blow it off, i spoke up to a coupe recruiting officers, well they where in khakis, and they said not to say a word. I am going for Nuc, the nuc recruiter told me not to worry either! everyone said not to worry and they all said the exact same thing,t that it's only US legal issues. I DON'T CARE ABOUT GOING BACK TO CANADA, MY LAWYER SAID IF I DONT' SHOW I'LL NEVE RHEAR ANYTHIGN AGAIN, BUT I'LL BE ARRESTED THE SECOND I STEP INTO CANADA. i'm fine with that, my lawyer i hired said there is ntohign he can do but i am basically plannign on after i do my service time, basically biting the bullet and doing what i need to do up there, simply because i lvoed my time in Montreal, and i will probably send my kids if i have them and they want to go to school there as well!
Is there any legal action that I can take against my school? I am a student of a very well known online school. I am currently enrolled and will graduate in December. I will not have to start paying on my student loans until June of 2010. I enrolled two years ago at this school for my Associates Degree. When I spoke with a recruiter they said that my Associates Degree would cost me roughly $35,000.00 (Which is Alot). I asked who I could get my student loans through, and they said in order to make everything a smooth process I needed to use Sallie Mae. I asked about an alternate option with better rates, and they said that if I decided to go with another lender, that I may not get enrolled in time because they would have to go through a "manual" process, and told me to apply with Sallie Mae. So, I did. The following quarter they told me that I needed to secure more student loans to cover lab fees and tuition. (By the way, everytime that I was told to get these loans I was assured it was "all I would need" to complete the Associates Degree program) In May of 2008 I was told by the Financial Aid department that I needed to secure more student loans in order to continue my classes. I asked why, and they said it was because they raised tuition. They said that I needed to get $12,000.00 + more in student loans. I was locked out of my classes, and so I got the student loans and was able to continue. In December of 2008 they started sending me correspondence and calling me stating that I owed $2,000.00 + , and to secure more student loans to cover the balance and the next quarter. Obviously I was extrememly upset at this point, and I called the Financial Aid Department. I talked to 4 individuals, and two told me that I owed more than the $2,000 + and two who told me I owed less. When I sent them correspondence to inform them that I was collecting all of my records to pursue legal action a Financial Advisor called me and said that she audited my account and found that they owed me money from past quarters that was never refunded me and that I did not owe a balance. If I would have been refunded or aware of that surplus I would not have "needed" to get such a high amount of student loans - and as a result pay additional interest. At this point I had $45,000.00 in Student Loans and I still had almost a year left of schooling. They told me that I would need to get an additional 15-20K in Student Loans to finish the program. So I would be paying $65,000.00 for an Associates Degree! I wrote a letter requesting to be downgraded to the one year certificate program for financial reasons, and they granted my request. I was told that I would save alot of money and graduate alot sooner. In the Associates Degree program I was set to graduate in December of 2009. Come to find out, in the one year certificate program - they told me I would still graduate in December of 2009. I was only a few credits away from the requirements for the one year certificate when I downgraded programs, and when I called to find out why my graduation date had not changed, they said that several of the credit that I recieved in the Associates program did not apply to the Certificate program and that I needed to get more credits (btw they charge somewhere around $400.00 per Credit Hour). They said that if I wanted to graduate sooner to take more classes at a time, but that I would need to secure more student loans. Like I said, I am currently enrolled, and my student loans dont start payments until June 2010. I am a great student with a high gpa and have worked very hard. It is almost too much to handle however when I think about how I have more than $50K in student loans - for a one year certificate program. I can't even get an entry level position in my field because the minimum requirement is an associates degree. I feel like I was really scammed by the school - particularly the recruiters and the financial aid department. I could also go on an on about the actual quality of education, but I think I have made this post long enough. I wish that I would not have been so naive, yet I had 0 experience with Colleges. I attempted to go to a school in state, but my major was not being offered in an online course. I had to go to school online because I was working full time and my family depended on my income. I know that I am probably screwed, but I really want to try and take action now while I am still enrolled if there is anything at all that I can do. Thanks for any thoughts, and sorry its so long. BTW I live in Oregon. The school is physically based in PA, but it operates nationwide.
i would like to know if bright international agecy limited located in london(UK) a legal agency? i have a job offer on that said agency, my position is administrative assistant and i would be working for P&O contruction company. Dr. Martin Mc Carthy asked me to pay 300 pound for the visa processing. salary offered to me is 4200 pounds, according to them i need to pay first before they will send me all the necessary documents, like referal letter, contract etc. How would i know that i am dealing with the right agency. i wanna make sure that i will not victimized by illegal recruiter. contact number of the agency is +447024079414. i found the job opening in godubai.com. and i send my resume to the said agency thru mail.
If attacks on recruiting stations were to become a trend...? If attacks on recruiting stations were to become a trend (they are obviously common and soft targets) would there be a LEGAL reason why recruiters could not be armed for self defense (such as M9s, not full blown tactical gear/M4s, etc), at least within or around the premises of the recruiting station? I'm open to hearing about ethical opinions on the subject as well, not necessarily grounded in legality.
When can i start dating my Air Force recruiter? I think I'm pretty interested in dating my recruiter all though i know its illigal. So I think I'm gonna try for it once I get out of basic training. But I have to know that it's legal to do so. I don't wanna get him in any trouble. So when is it ok to start "talking" to him?
Where can i find an employment recruiter? I am looking for an employment recruiter who can help place me in a career as either a legal secretary or entry level paralegal. I have a B.S. in legal studies and over 10 years work experience. Serious responses only please. No spam, or work at home opportunities either. Thank you
Why do recruiters lie? My hubby had asthma really bad when he was born all the way up until he was 13 years old. After that it didn't bother him at all anymore. When he was about to enlist and was filling out the papers, his recruiter told him that if his asthma doesn't bother him anymore to put down he never had asthma. So he did, and when he got to the base for basics they had a meeting about asthma and told them that if they ever had it they should speak up because it could bother them overseas or in basics and if something happened because of it and he said he didn't have it, they wouldn't have to pay him. Once you have it you always do right? So now he admitted it and they have to give him some kind of test. Also, my hubby had a couple legal matters that he couldn't afford to take care of before he left for basics. Like court fees, unpaid citations, and the day before he left he got a citation for driving on suspended license, all of which he told his recruiter about and his recruiter told him it was ok. Will something happen to my hubby for any of this? Id so, isn't his recruiter responsible.
EDIT: Scam/fake recruiters Dubai? Edit my topic about scam/fake jobrecruiters Dubai (Core Elements) I found this important article on http://www.dubizzle.com/discuss/dubai-questions-and-answers/2673/ Read the whole topic line and spread the news,so others will not fall for those "bastards"!! Under the UAE Labour Law it is illegal for any company or employer to charge or try and charge any employee for any part of the recruitment or employment process: including agents fees, finders fees, commissions, medical fees, registration charges, labour deposits etc. etc. Any company contravening this can be reported to the Dubai Economic Department (DED), if enough complaints are made the company can have their trade licence withdrawn. here are the email addresses of who to contact there... Are U.S. military recruiters allowed to transport people/students? (I was contacted by a recruiter because I was interested in joining one of the services part-time so that they would pay for some of my schooling.) A recruiter has offered to pick me up from my school which is nearby his office (I have only spoken to this Sgt. through the phone) and then take me home which is a 20-30 minute ride from my school (private school). Is this legal (I am 17, and have verbal parental consent to meet/contact him)? I am a little concerned and of course don't want to be sexually assaulted, molested etc. and normally I don't fear this but somehow I now do in this situation. Should I be worried?

Is it legal to refuse giving my secondary recruiter a copy of my enlistment contract? I happened to have two recruiter working with me. The primary one prepared me for enlistment was a uniformed service member and the secondary one who seemed to just know more about the field I was applying for was a plain cloths contractor helping the Army recruiting. he was actually from a different office and my primary recruiter called him to answer my endless questions. As much as my primary recruiter was honest and tried to carefully phrase his words the secondary guy was full of shit and down the road I realized a vast majority of his answers were false! He asked for a copy of my contract when I signed the contract at MEPS, they refused giving it to him. Now, he is asking again for a copy of my contract which contains all my personal info and I'm not comfortable doing that. Really, I have two questions: 1. Can I refuse giving my contract to the secondary recruiter? 2. Doesn't my primary recruiter have access to all my files including my contract? why he doesn't give the second guy a copy?
What do they check for medically with the security clearance? I know legal, credit, but I keep hearing about medical. What are they checking for? Do I need to provide them with the names & addresses of all of my past doctors? One is retired now. I signed a form giving full access to my records for my recruiter, I was just wondering how they would know the doctors and if I need to take that info with me to BCT. Should I take it just in case? It's a top secret clearance if that makes a difference. Thanks!
How do I become an officer in the Air Force? I recently started the process of joining the Air National Guard and am interested in becoming an officer. My recruiter said that they are taking only those candidates with technical degrees, ie medical, legal. I have a four year accounting degree and am currently working on my masters. Will completing my masters increase my chances of becoming an officer in the future? Do you think my recruiter is giving me bs, or do I really not have a chance to join the air national guard as an officer? Thanks everyone!
How hard is it to get into the coast guard? I'm 21, no legal or medical problems, and in excellent shape. Will it be hard for me to join? I have tried contacting a recruiter a few times with no luck. When I do get to talk to a recruiter, how can I convince him that I am really serious about joining?
my recruiter told me im disqulified for legal issues. what should i do? My recruiter told me that im disqualified from enlistment and i cannot get a waiver for possesion of marijuana charge under an ounce (only thing on my record). he also told me that a year ago he was enlisting recruits that had 2 of them, but back then there was a demand for recruits.. but right now he said that there only 100 jobs in the army and 500 people trying to get them. so they pick and choose carefully. he told me to wait and comeback frequently to check up. what else should i do to help my chances of qualification. Im really serious about this so i need serious and helpfull answers please. thank you how long do you i would have to wait?
I need Legal Help, For being lied to by a recruiter, and now I'm being punished.? In Nov 2008, I met with a recruiter who lied on my paperwork and said I was 200 Lbs. I was really 270 Lbs, it was a field enlistment, and the only people to sign off on it were the Co and her higher NCO. I was also given permission to go down to GA so my family would be taken care of. Now a year later, I am being discharged possibly AWOL and reduced in rank. Does anyone know how I can fight this. Can I get some outside military person involed like JAG or the inspector general. There are many more detail but this is the "jist" of the situation. I NEED HELP. I'm not truning to get out, I'm trying to go back active duty. I just want to retain my rank and not destroy my chances at a military career. They national guard unit is in WI, im in GA, where I was told I could go. I am prior service, e-4 army. Everyone knew I was overweight. They were going to deploy to afghanistan, and I was a augmentee. They were already at their MOB station when they called and asked if I wanted to go. They didn't a clear path for me to SRC. I was told if i didn't go to afghanistan, I would get active orders. Both my recruiter and the Co and 1SG knew and let me go down to GA. It is physical impossible to lose 70 lbs in a matter of months. It is imposssible to hide 270 lbs. Due to the fact it was a field enlistment, I did not go down to MEPS. It wasn't untill I took a closer look at my field enlistment packet that I saw my wieght was put down as 200 Lbs. And by "outside" i mean a new pair of eyes, or some not involved to look at this. I am talking with a SPC, who seems to be in control of the rear detachment. It's not like I fell of the face of the earth to them, we have been talking since January. Due to enconomy I haven't really been able to afford that plane ticket every month...
Can I refuse giving my secondary recruiter a copy of my contract? Is it legal?
I moved to Indianapolis, IN and having trouble finding a job? I just moved back In Indy to be closer to family but I am having trouble finding a job. I have a business degree and JD Law degree. I have experience as a Legal Consultant and managed MGM Grand in Las Vegas but I can't seem to get even a second looking here in the midwest. What should I do? Find a recruiter or headhunter? How? However im just trying to find a career path in the navy that really evolves around something i want to do when i retire from the navy. I am really interested in the medical field and the legal field. Im just wondering as an E-1 just entering the navy would i be able to be a part of the medical corps?
Is this freakin LEGAL?? Posted salary shadyness...? I am so ticked off right now. Job posting as technical recruiter lists $42,500 as base plus commission....obviously I'm all over that Not "up to" or commensurate" but states $42,500 AS BASE I kill the interview and ready to hop on, mind you in the meantime, I'm turning down other offers of 35 and 40k for this one...anyway So I get a call a couple minutes ago and the guy is extending an offer to me...GREAT! not... He freakin tells me he is going to start me at 30k and in 90 days get moved up to 32,500...Obviously I'm pissed and I mention it says 42,500 as base on the job posting..he says "Oh really?, It was a Typo". Thank goodness I saved the posting before hand...I actually checked it online, and with the quickness it now says "Commensurate with experience"...what a load of crap. Anyway is all that legal what they just pulled??? What are your guys opinions of this?
Legal obligation to provide for Continuing Education ? I recieved a contract for employment that I am reviewing for one of my candidates (I am a recruiter). The candidate is a physcian, whom MUST attend CME's in order to maintain liscensure. The contract stipulates that there is no paid vaction, which is rare but I have seen. What I can not believe is the employer will also not pay for any CME classes, and the time off for CME is also non-paid. The contract is for a hospital in CA. Does this sound legal? I ask because in order to maintain ANY license (law, medicine, CPA, etc.) you have to go to continuing education, thus should there at least be an allowance for time? Thank you in advance.
Is this legal for a collection agency to do? Ok so back in Sept 07 I had a apartment that my mom cosigned with me. I lived there for about 9 months until I joined the Marine Corps and left for bootcamp. While I was living there my recruiter asked to move my ship date for bootcamp a month sooner which only left me with 2 days before I had to leave. I left and my mom took care of cleaning out the room for me. She scrubbed it down till it was perfectly clean. But when she talked to the owners they said they had to call in a cleaning team to come clean it and charged her $100. She refused to pay since she had already made sure it was clean. Now more than a year later some agency called her and says she owes over $200 and her credit score has already dropped from 800 to 600. Is it legal to wait a year without contacting the person and to be charging interest?
