Who is responsible for paying my my Visa? Is it me or the employer?
I applied as a nanny for his child. But he wants me to pay for the visa and other necessary documents. But will be reimbursing it when I get there. Is it advisable? I just want to make sure that I have a job when I got there. How can I make sure that I'd be working as a nanny and not in prostitution or is not illegal? There is no recruitment agency involved and I just want to make sure that everything is legal. Please help! I need your advice. Thanks!

- Do you have a contract for employment or does he have references to show he is legitimate? Credit ref or a bank reference would help. Why did previous Nanny leave? Have you taken advise about working abroad? It sounds risky then go with an agency instead.
- You are responsible for those cost it is nice that your prospect employer offers to reimburse you but to be on the safe side check where you will be working beforehand and let someone you know where you are supposed to be if anything seems wrong or shady in the process just don't do it. good luck.
- Where are you? Where is "he"? How did he find you for this job?
- The employer has made it clear that they won't take any risks with you. Having you wear all the costs can make it very easy for the potential employer to pick and choose and maybe have more than one Nanny arriving, so they can say oh the job has already gone, we didn't think you'd turn up, sorry. We do have some other jobs in our escort agency which pay very well, the girls have great conditions and security. You'll be isolated from your national support and vulnerable to pressure or even harassment. To know if you'd be an illegal you should go onto the immigration website which will provide information on which countries and the age limits, you can work in. There will be requirement on the Visa to stipulate your intentions and there are various types of visas. Certain employment visas will require the naming of an authentic employer. It sounds like you may be entering into a very risky situation, so manage your risk with open eyes, don't deny the dangers. Managing the dangers means to research the situation. log onto http://www.immi.gov.au/ which is very informative, though it may not directly relate to you (I don't know where you live). No recruitment agency means there is no responsible group to protect you. If you were my family I'd advise you to consider other alternative to that nanny job. Let me know if you have any further questions. You may benefit from doing a search on Nanny experience in that country.
- IF you are applying to Canada as a caregiver, then the employer MUST arrange to pay for the caregiver visa for you since they are hiring you. I dont know what the USA rules are, nor the rules for any other country.
